The Scat Pack Club

Well As I can probably spend hours on this topic explaining about Dodge’s Marketing program and all the awesome performance Muscle cars that came along with it through 1968 to 72, I would just like to concentrate on the “Scat Pack Kits” themselves ,how you became a member, and how the “Scat Pack Jacket” were issued.

It’s no secret that if you had bought a brand new Dodge Charger R/T (or any car that was part of the Scat Pack) back in 68 to 71,.that you were very possibly automatically enrolled in the scat pack club. Or you could have joined by filling out one of many ordering forms found in dealerships, car magazines and of course the very popular Dodge New Magazine, regardless of whether you own a car or not. The enrollment from the dealership was free, or for .50 cents and turning in the filled out coupon, you got a Dodge scat pack official membership card, a couple of 4″ dodge scat pack vinyl decals, a 4″ superbee decal, the dodge scat pack full color bumper sticker, the scat pack iron on full color Bee, and a Superbee metal badge, But Did NOT include an Official “Scat Pack Jacket”. Only exception was for 1971,…see below.

Take notice where your money got send to……”Detroit Michigan” . First form is a 1969 , second one is 1970…….look at the price difference. From what I understand a club member received a couple extra items in 1970.

Here is one from the 1971 Dodge scat pack line up brochure. Notice how this membership Application asks you for your Jacket Size? This is the only evidence I have found where the application for the “Scat Pack Club” will actually include the Jacket in the membership. Up until 71 All Jackets were ordered and or distributed differently.
